Cardiff Animation Festival Wrap Up

And that’s a wrap! This past weekend we invaded Cardiff Animation Festival with our deadly Trampires puppets and sets, and well… we’re proud to announce that everyone survived. Not only that, but the exhibition was a massive success. Result!

We spent the prior week packing everything up in preparation, and after a few days of perspex wrangling and having way too much fun popping bubblewrap, the room was transformed and we were ready to rock. You can see some of our BTS photos here:

The weekend kicked off on Thursday when the press popped in for a chat. We were featured on ITV Wales News – a clip of which has kindly been uploaded by presenter Mike Griffiths:

We were also visited by the folks on BBC Radio Cymru and The Cardiff Podcast, both of which were a pleasure to talk to.

Check out some of our photos we took of our finished exhibition setup:

On Friday evening, the Chuck crew had a Q&A panel where they got to answer questions from the audience as well as delving into the roots of Mike’s history with the character and stop motion. The event went great, and Mike and the team loved interacting with you all.

We also pushed the hashtag #ChuckSteel, encouraging people to take their own photos at the exhibition. People took some awesome photos, and you can see a few of them in this gallery here:

If you’d like to see more photos from the event, check out our Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages! All the action goes down there.

We’d like to give a huge thank you and congratulations to Cardiff Animation Festival and Anim18 on a fantastic first year debut. There were so many great animations and people around, and we hope it’s paved the way as a staple of animation festivals. It was an honor working with the team and bringing Chuck out of the darkness for the first time in years. Poor bloke’s not used to it. We’d also like to thank everyone who attended our event, seeing and talking to you makes it all worth it.

Stay tuned for more announcements of when and where else you can see us in action!
