The hard work has begun here at Chuck Towers, and to see the respective departments needed to undertake a stop-motion film on the scale of ‘Chuck Steel: Night of The Trampires’ rise from the shell of a once defunct speaker factory, and begin to function at 100% is nothing short of awesome.
You may remember from our video post from the new studio, the empty husk of the building was massive, and the idea of filling the place with, machinery, life and productivity seemed like it was light years away…how wrong we were.
Here are some pics of the early days in the building…
Our Puppet department, headed & managed by Sam Holland has been raised in about a month and is currently operating at about 90% capacity, and is already 30 odd puppets deep. The full complement of talent, including sculptors, wardrobe, molds & 3D, will be functioning at 100% within a week. With somewhere just short of 500 puppets to be made for ‘Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires’, the puppet department has taken precedent over everything, and will be the first department running at full steam.
Art Directors Phil Lewis & Bridget Phelan have been organising the Art department as the Puppets build has been dominating the output here at Chuck Towers, but now as their team slowly begins to build in numbers, and with all the workshops and extraction facilities in place, the Art Dept. will begin to design & build the sets that will eventually fill the hangar sized production floor here at Chuck Towers.
Sitting at the top of the Tower and overseeing the lot, is our production office, which has been in overdrive since day one, making sure every little thing has been taken care of – our production office run the show, and the whole lot would fall apart without them.
Every week, new people start work, and another part of the puzzle falls in to place, or a new department puts its processes in to play, and we get another day closer to shooting the film.
There will however, be a few more updates before that actually happens, so stay tuned.
